Team Member Bio
In addition to John’s responsibilities as a member of our Editorial team, he is the Food and Drink writer for the Hippo, a regional newspaper, and the head cocktail writer for Heavy Table, an online food magazine based out of Minneapolis.
John is a father, husband, avid gardener, and flea market enthusiast. In addition, he was once beaten by an angry, machete-wielding mob of Kikuyu outside Nairobi and – even more perilously – spent 25 years as a middle school teacher in Africa and the US.
He believes strongly in the power of cheese.
